Incredible colours and elegant texture – ranunculus, often referred to as the rose of the spring, is one of the most popular cut flowers. They are very colourful and most often come in multiple layers of delicate, crepe paper-thin petals, looking absolutely stunning.
The name “ranunculus” derives from the Latin word for “little frog”, which is probably about the flower’s growing habits preferring a moist environment, just like frogs.
The wild flower varieties of ranunculus usually come in shades of white and soft yellow, therefore giving flower the name “buttercup”. Ranunculus can show all the vivid shades of warm colours, from yellow and bright orange to red, purple and pink, as well as white, and a combination of all of the above.
Some of the flowers burst with radiant colours, the rows of petals have doubled appearance, and some of them almost look like garden roses.
Ranunculus also make excellent cut flowers, because of their dazzling yet almost humble appearance, they make an original bouquet and have become the favorite choice of flowers for spring weddings.
