Encouraging your Paphiopedilum orchid to re-flower:
The flower stalk can be completely cut away after blooming. This shoot will not produce another flower stalk. The plant forms a new shoot from which a new bud will grow once the shoot is high enough. The bud always appears in the heart of the shoot.
